Barry and Darth Tater
Taking pictures at home might seem the easiest option, but it’s actually challenging in that one has to find new angles and options to avoid cliches or the same viewpoints. This picture works because of the placing and angle of our Mr Potato Head – Darth Tater, who is (quite by accident) mirroring the angle of view of the main subject.
I have added some grain to this image, through Alien Skin’s Exposure plug-in (http://www.alienskin.com/exposure/index.aspx) which, among other things, replicates the look of famous black and white camera film, such as Kodak Tri-X 400 and Fuji Neopan 1600. Once installed it comes up as a filter option on Photoshop. It’s highly customisable and the programme offers lots of other options as well, examples of which you can find on the website.
